Surge Arrestors – available from Power Capacitors Ltd.
We answer some common questions about these often overlooked devices?
What is a Surge Arrestor?
A surge arrestor is a compact device that protects electrical systems by diverting transient over-voltages (lightning being a common one, or switching surges) safely down to earth.
How does it work?
These devices work by detecting when voltage exceeds a safe threshold and then rapidly diverting the excess energy to earth. The device then returns to a non-conductive state once normal conditions resume.
Why do I need one?
Safety first! A surge arrestor protects your critical (and expensive!) electrical equipment from these highly damaging voltage spikes – reducing the risk of failures, downtime and those all important costly repairs.
