The company has specialised in all aspects of Power Quality since 1973. Our experience is as diverse as our customer base which for over 45 years has always included large multi-national manufacturing, financial and utility companies as well as SMEs and private individuals.

We have a range of products and services in the power quality field which is second to none.
These include the distribution of specialist power electronics capacitors, as well as the servicing, maintenance and installation of any type of Power Factor Correction equipment. As a specifier, contractor or end user you can be sure of speaking to an expert who understands your industry inside out and can offer concise and cost effective solutions.
The Company was founded in 1973 by Jim & Betty Moss. Their son, Peter, took over as Managing Director in 1992 when Jim retired. Even at the beginning Power Capacitors was a company with a single-minded objective: to excel in Power Factor Correction and related capacitor technologies.
In those early days, the company recognised that there was a growing need for higher levels of engineering quality and customer-focused service in the industry. Power Capacitors has been championing this belief ever since.
The company has always been based in Birmingham, where it has continued to grow. In the mid 1980s Power Capacitors moved to its current office and manufacturing centre located at Redfern Road, Tyseley.
Power Capacitors Limited aims to provide products and services which give total customer satisfaction. We recognise that our continued future success depends on the quality, price and delivery of our products. If we are to meet the ever-increasing levels of service demanded by our customers and set by our competitors, the quality of our products must be of the highest possible standard.
To this end, we are acredited to BS EN ISO9001:2015 in ensuring that every order/contract is comprehensively executed in keeping with the company’s documented quality system and that our products comply in process/manufacture with not only statutory and regulatory requirements, namely the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC, the Working Time Directive 93/104/EC and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, but also appropriate British & European Standards.
In the pursuit of total quality, Power Capacitors Ltd is also an NICEIC approved contractor and an approved Safe Contractor.
